On to new beginnings

In the past year I started picking up learning electronics as a hobby and the journey has been fascinating! Coming from a pure software engineering background I discover and learn little things that slowly piece together the bigger picture of how it all works “down to the metal”. Fair enough any electrical engineer would find these things trivial but hey you have to start somewhere 🙂

Along the way I bumped into all kinds of resources online, from technical articles from leading outlets to Medium posts to Instructables to tiny little blogs. And it’s hard to predict which one will have the right phrasing or the right bit of information that will click at the right time. In that sense, I’ve been wondering if I could share something back to the world of the Internets in the hope that maybe someone would bump into something useful someday. You never know.

So here it goes, yet another “blog” on the web. I am hoping to start with a few teardowns of trivial gadgets that I haven’t seen done elsewhere, and maybe a few pointers given with the perspective of a software guy.. We’ll see where this goes, and if it goes better than the first blog I started writing more than 20 years ago…

Ship it!

  1. Hi Vincent,
Welcome to the world of electronics. I just ran into the tear down of the Gosund plug as I am falling in the home automation rabbit hole and acquiring information. Very nicely done.
    Cheers,
    Remi
